Some praise from a novice
I got back into trading cards last month after a 25? year break. I have had some fun and rewarding interactions in that short time.
@Stone193 has been exceedingly helpful and great.
I have enjoyed conversations with @heritage @softparade and a few others.
I even got to make a few trades! Which is awesome because I LOVE to trade and it is like pulling teeth trying to trade with most coin collectors, so the card area has been wonderful!
I wanted to also praise Gochicubs on eBay. This seller made up a custom lot of 200 cards picked just for me, after I messaged him inquiring about the Phillies.
I am still learning and having fun, with some mistakes and fine tuning along the way. Would you believe I spent $3.87 on what I thought was 2 100pc packs of penny sleeves, and when it arrived it was just TWO sleeves? Over 7 years on eBay and I missed the fine details on the listing lol. On the coin forum we call that sort of thing “tuition” usually, as education often comes with a price tag in one way or another.
Anyway, thanks for making this forum a fun place to learn and interact.

GREAT! Have fun collecting.
Welcome back to the hobby.
Rocco, I hope you enjoy collecting cards as much as we do on the forum.
Great story, Rocco! You paid your "tuition" and you are on your way to a dual degree in coins and cards.
Glad to see that you got struck by the collecting bug and it sparked your interest in cards again. You came to the right place for info on getting back into collecting sports cards.
Happy collecting!

Hiya Rocco
It's been my pleasure to help. Never hesitate to PM me if you need something off list.
This is my 30th "continuous" year of collecting. And I've been here for 15 great years!
As I've said so many times - our hobby is fun and immensely rewarding.
"And" even more so if we follow my 3 rules: 1. establish budget, 2. establish focus and 3. never break rule 1 or 2.
Rocco,
Welcome back to collecting. Of course times have changed, but the fun hasn’t.
