State of Stamp Market

ElmhurstElmhurst Posts: 784 ✭✭✭

Could I get a few opinions on the state of the stamp market?

After starting as a kid, I re-entered in 1989 collecting Latin America, mostly Argentina...the joke is on me, I know. I quit in the mid 90's.

I have fair amount of Latin American postal history (covers), that I understand have done better than the stamp business in general.

Thanks.

Postal history is where it is at these days. If you have something an APS exhibitor needs to win a gold medal you can do very well. Common stamp material should be avoided. The overall stamp market has been in decline for many years and the decline will likely continue. Young people don't collect stamps (and because of their reliance on I-Phones and such they rarely mail anything.)

    All glory is fleeting.

I don't know if I would call it a "Market"...that ship sailed years ago with Columbus. Take care...
