SkyMan, and some of his space collection, is on Netflix
I realize this isn't a coin related post per se, but I'd like to thank our hosts very much for allowing a certain amount of leeway on posting on issues that interest the CU community.
I suspect it is true with all collecting endeavors, that once you get to a certain level, other people in the field know you, or know about you, and vice versa. A couple of years ago I was asked if I was interested in being on a show dealing with space memorabilia. The show was a new concept that can somewhat be described as a cross between "American Pickers" and "NASA's Unexplained Files". The producers of the show have produced at least one show that I suspect a healthy percentage of you have at least channel surfed on.
The basic concept of the show was the idea that dealers would go to collectors and assorted establishments to buy and sell items. Along the way there would be information given about the missions that the items were on. I saw it as an educational opportunity and said yes.
A crew came to my place, and we spent a full day filming. I SIGNED A NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT, SO THERE ARE CERTAIN THINGS I CANNOT DISCUSS ABOUT THE SHOW. Suffice it to say that the show is a 'REALITY" show. All space items in the show are real.
The show ended up being shown/broadcast in (I believe, but am not positive on some countries) the Baltic countries, the Benelux countries, the Nordic countries, France, Russia and Australia. (FWIW, it's particularly amusing to hear oneself dubbed into Russian). Eventually Netflix "bought" the show, and it is now being shown in the USA on Netflix.
The name of the show is "Space Dealers". There are six episodes.
If you have a Netflix account you can search for the show and find it. Yours truly is in Episode One, about 12:35 minutes and 15:50 minutes into the show. I hope you enjoy (at least my section of ) the episode, and for those that like the first episode, the other 5 episodes too.

@SkyMan Coingrats on the Netflix program. I'm sure they could
have devoted a whole hour just to your collection. On the 1973-D
quarter on the obv. at 3 o'clock there is something going on the
edge of the coin. On the rev. from 3-4 o'clock there are marks as
well. Could you elaborate?
Thats awesome Sy! Congrats!

My understanding is that most likely the coin got caught in the cellophane crimper/sealer for a Mint Set.

Unfortunately, I do not have access to Netflix. Any chance it may show up on You tube or view able elsewhere? Congratulations though on the recognition.

Very cool!!
As mentioned by @Hemispherical you can get a 30 day free trial at Netflix. Of course...
One of the nice things about interest in space is that it cuts across national boundaries. As mentioned, this show has been shown in multiple areas around the world.
You used to be able to see it in French on YouTube, but that site got yanked. Here it is DUBBED IN RUSSIAN on what I assume is the Russian variant of YouTube...

I checked it out. I don't trust people enough to take their word on items being flown to space and no paper work. The soviet stuff and the cable for something like 10K.

Dammit, can't edit from my phone. Think the cable may have been 20 or 30K

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
