  • I agree, his time is near, but he doesn't have any pressure on him yet, so he might be able to ride that, doubt it tho.

Well, Lou Gherig never hit in 20 straight, much less 33...so you have to give Castillo a little bit of respect...

I aggre this record wont be broken.......he'll choke.....another record that will never be broken is Ted Williams batting over .400

  • What about Gibson's 1.12 ERA. They raised the mound after that year.Another record that will probably never be broken

Yeah, Ted Williams's record won't be broken, but that's actually the "modern" record although he did it in the 40's. The REAL batting average record for a season is .420 by Ty Cobb in 1911! Now THAT will never be broken, much less anyone hitting .400 again. Tony Gwynn hit .394 in 1994 but unfortunately the strike ended that threat, but doubt he would have done it, although he had the best chance...
  • i think Ichiro has a chance to hit .400 one year

  • Ichi-Ho(sorry, just can't stand him) isn't gonna be a guy that's gonna progress much more than he has already, he's almost 30 if you remember. The next two or 3 years is his only chance for .400, but he is a guy who can do it, he'll get the average record though.
  • George Brett got over .400 one year and the manager offered him to sit the last game of the year but Brett declined and he dropped to like .398 or something in that game. So it can be done
