The note is AU. What kind of value does it have?

I collect courtesy autographed notes and rarely see an A.W. Mellon autographed note.
Personally, I would pay $200 if authenticated.

  • Would a pedigree from a major grading company reveal if the autograph was legit?

    Off topic //

I sometimes wonder if those who send in a colonial note are surprised when it comes back fairly graded... with a "counterfeit" description. 😗

    Mellon is a tougher signature.

I don't think TPG services authenticate signatures, only verify that the note is genuine. Some signatures from the late 1940s to date were signed with an "autopen" and were not personally signed.

My first glance at the note tells me that the signature is authentic.
