Here is a somewhat interesting copper Chinese "dollar". Based on what I know of it's history I feel comfortable saying it was purchased from the previous owner prior to 1960, so not a particularly "modern" copy

It's obviously not an actual pattern or anything like that but I was wondering if anyone has seen something like this before.
Is there any chance things like this were made by the Chinese mint for collectors at some point?

Yes, it is stamped "Copy" on the reverse, maybe done by a conservative collector not wanting any subsequent buyer thinking it was a genuine pattern coin
