Not sure that it's actually a coin ... token? Commemm?
Correct, it's a medal. It commemorates the construction of the Paris Observatory.
I've no idea how much to pay for this one, though.
Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, "Meditations"
Apparently I have been awarded one DPOTD.
Here's one in an entirely different condition:

The date is there as plain as day in Roman numerals.. But that coin is BU and yours is quite damaged. Maybe the bronze ones were in Arabic numerals and the silver (if yours is silver and not a base metal) one is Roman numerals. Your coin's Reverse looks like it was cast, not minted .. maybe a repro.
If you don't know much about it then your money should stay in your wallet until you do. I have no idea what it is worth.
The date 1667 is at the very bottom on the rev. Weight, size, put a magnet to it. Might be a copy of the bronze one already posted.

Louis the Fourteenth of France, probably a much later copy, poor condition, $20 is probably too much.
If you are not really and truly deeply into French History (and your commentary suggests that you are not), you should avoid this. Easy to buy, difficult to resell.
You have answer my question BillDugan, I ear you load and clear….Thanks
