1978 Topps football Walter Payton question

Ive pulled a few of these Payton cards (#200) from wax packs and they all have the same issue; rough bottom. Has anyone else noticed this? Could this be something prone to this card?
thanks

Based on PSA 9 being 1/3 of the submissions result, I believe you have encountered a bad run simply. Any chance these were from the same box?

  • Thanks for the reply. Nope, different boxes.

204 PSA 9's out of 1532 submissions does not equate to 1/3. Am I missing something?

I have not seen or heard of the issue you are describing in the 78's I have owned and seen.

  • I'm not sure if you can see the bottom. The black dot near the top is from the scanner, not on the card

You are correct. I was looking at Payton's other card, #3.
