Most businesses HAVE COMPETITION! Our host does not.

I sent a submission to the competition (for the two coin half "set" label) that was received on Monday and is still not logged in. Seems to be an issue right now with both companies

@Insider2 so heavy volume is a nice problem to not only celebrate, but also anticipate. Most businesses plan ahead for these cycles.

Hiring skilled workers on a temporary basis to accommodate a busy season is oftentimes impossible.

I live in a popular summer vacation town where the population doubles from 25K to 50K from Memorial Day to Labor Day. During the winter my car dealer gives me a next day service appointment, during the summer it is a week or more. Restaurants can always find extra wait staff but there just aren't many factory-trained car techs sitting around waiting for work.

Personally I'd prefer to wait a few days rather than have some untrained person replacing my brakes or grading my coins.

Are guarantee resubmissions entered any differently than normal ones? My package was received 2/12 and I'm not seeing anything in my orders yet, only at 5 business days so I guess I shouldn't worry.

Turn-around times should reflect the time the package was received and entered until when it was shipped. Average wait between arrival and order entry could be given. Of course that happens faster with "express" especially when an express invoice is noted on the package.

this has been an ongoing problem with PCGS, I have experienced it as long as maybe a year ago, posted about it and no one really cared. maybe it is now more widespread. I know that for my part I have on occasion forgotten to make note on the package about the "Service" requested. I think that helps. also, since PCGS has been getting things graded much faster lately I don't think we should be too upset with this. when it takes 10 days from the receipt to show in "My Orders" AND 40+ days in the grading room, that's a problem!!!!

to the point of backlogs, in the 1980's I worked at an Aluminum foundry that did a lot of Government Contract work and stuff for the US Auto Industry. we routinely had a 37 week backlog.

I had a package received on 2/04/19 which contained (2) boxes inside with (2) different submissions.

One box of a (2) coin restoration was logged in yesterday.

The 2nd box containing my APOLLO coins still hasn't logged in. I find that strange.

The 2nd part of my order with the Apollo coins was logged in yesterday. :)
I expect these to grade rather quickly.

    Not turnaround time related, but.....

I sent PCGS Customer Support an email about 5 weeks ago. Nothing really urgent...my credit card # had changed, and I forgot to update the PCGS site. As a result, my Gold Collector Club membership expired, and could not be auto-renewed (I was grandfathered in at the $129 price). Anyway, 30-some days later I got a call from Customer Support. They were very, very apologetic, and said they were behind on email. I provided my new card # and they said they would get things taken of promptly. I suppose I could have called earlier, but I was in no real rush. In fact, I had forgotten about the email entirely!

Bottom line, I do think Customer Support is very busy right now, but when they did get back to me, they were extremely apologetic, and very professional. Thank you PCGS.

As a long time shareholder of CLCT and the PCGS side of the business, the huge number of coins being sent in is great news to me. And yes, I had to call as I also was getting a bit concerned on my pucks taking a while to get in the system.

I keep buying the stock on dips as they should have a great next quarter when they report next around May 6th or so. Up about 40% year to date. The end of 2018 quarter was a tough one, but really headed in the right direction now. Edited to say I use limit orders as the bid/ask spread is quite large.

I was a bit nervous . . .needed a dozen common US coins back for the Idaho Falls show at the end of March. Didn't think I could get them back in time via Econ . . and they just are not worth the Regular submission rate, so I won't be able to send in until after the show (when I see if I sell raw).

    I figured after what I had read here . . . . and seen on the PCGS timechart . . . getting them back in a month would not happen . . . my fault . . . I waited too late.

PCGS is doing a good job with submissions. I think they are doing a bit of retooling with moving people around etc. They will get your coins done! Call their customer service.

I had the same results. It took 9 business days for my order to reach the processing stage, but then, quite surprisingly, only 4 more days until my grades posted.

Regular has been quick, usually < 7 days (processing). Modern is a different story. You get what you are willing to pay for.
