1985 D Penny

My 1985 D pennies all have problems in the same area, around the "ES" in "States" and the "o" in "of". I know they are not "error coins because I have so many that look weird. I am wondering, however, if anyone knows why these coins look this way. I have attached a few examples of what I mean.

Thanks

Because Lincolns bust is opposite that area – and the metal flows into the deeper recesses of the die –So it’s almost always weak opposite that area if the day pressure isn’t set properly

    That makes sense. Thanks!

Thx for posting and especially for doing some comparison on your own first. If you had only posted one coin I personally would have dismissed it as unworthy of scrutinizing (post mint damage, minor grease, etc.).

But, you had three similar so FW was able to give a good explanation of what was going on. So, we all learned something!
