Hey all. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Matt. I, like many collected heavily in the 80s and 90s. By the early 2000s i had gotten out of it. I've collected on and off the past few years. I was always intrigued by the 48 leaf boxing set. So over the past 4 years I've been working on a graded set. Its been a lot of fun and I've learned a ton. I also plan to slowly start grading some of the cards from my collection. Its not really about the financial gain, I just love how the cards look encapsulated. Most of my 48 leaf cards grade out around a 5. They are super tough to find in high grades. Anyways, just wanted to say hey!

Welcome, I too collect vintage boxing, but have focused on superstars rather than sets. Good luck, there are lots of auctions with graded leaf cards, mostly from PWCC or Probstein. I think boxing cards are extremely cheap and scarce compared to other sports, the interest in the sport has dwindled over the years, unfortunately.
Welcome Matt! Good luck with your set.
Hiya Matt
Welcome!
Not a boxing fan but would enjoy seeing what you've collected.
BTW, on net54, Adam Warshaw is pretty much an expert on all things boxing and has written books on it.
Don't be a stranger.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm not really a boxing fan anymore either. I was back in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s, but my interest has dwindled. My fascination with the 48 leaf set started because back in my childhood I collected with my uncle. He had a few 48 leaf boxing cards and at the time I loved boxing. Those cards even in bad condition went for high prices in the 80s and 90s. I always said one day I'd have the set. Prices are more affordable now and I'm still enamored with that set. I have bought a few already graded on eBay. But I prefer buying raw and getting them graded myself. Of course in the long run that's the more expensive way to do it but i get more joy that way. Ill post some pics what I have so far.
