Has anyone heard that some Proof graded U.S. were in fact the very first coins to begin a series of business Strike coins, and in no way do they resemble the remainder of the run. Does anyone have an example to ease my skepticism?
Thanks

In the past, proof dies were often used to strike coins that were not proofs. Many of these look different than identical coins of the same date, mint, and type that were made using non-proof dies.
