Re-upping? Yes or no?

My membership is up this month. Trying to decide if I am renewing or not. What have you done or planning to do? The 15 "free" grades are tempting but even these are taking up to 2 months. Pros and cons?

I've been just sending what few higher end I need on my own, a few at a clip at full boat...no membership. for bulk, ive been hopping in on a monthly facebook groups bulk subs. much easier when I only want to send a few cards at a time and only pay $10. I can grab an SMR for free at my LCS if I need one. not really seeing the value of a membership at this time so I let mine lapse.

    That's what I am thinking.

I know the wait times are longer than ever and that appears to be the new normal but I wish that the business days of getting your membership renewed was like the old days so for just one time per year you can have a fast service for 6 to 15 cards and not have to wait two months or more to get them back........I would hope that this could get back to how it used to. I'm not optimistic at this point.

I let mine lapse. I have pile going for a bulk and another for what I'd use my vouchers on. I think the likely plan for me is one year on/one year off. I could see it stretching to two years off.

My renewal order that popped in Mid-January took 24 business days. Logged 12/3, popped 1/10, so not that bad, though certainly longer than it used to be.

I wonder if being a member or non-member effects the term around times?

nope, don't effect times. you would think being a paying member would give you exclusively faster turn around times, but they are the same 25 day turn around for vouchers vs normal paid submissions.

Mine has lapsed for about a year now. I dont see the advantage of the membership anymore, as for me the monthly "specials" combined with turnaround times are not worth paying the extra. If I send in, I will just wait until I have enough for a bulk shipment.

And for bulk rates you need a membership... :)

    Nope
    Honestly, why?
There are zero perks to become a member anymore. There are no membership specials. You get no membership treatment. Turnaround times are beyond excruciating. SMR goes straight into recycling.
I have two 20 day subs, dropped off at a show at the beginning of November, that are currently at 55 business days. I let my membership expire before New Years.
They obviously don’t need or want my membership money.
It’s easier to find a group bulk sub somewhere and check back in 6 months. Or just pay up for a higher level faster turnaround to avoid the submission black hole. They’re still winning either way so it doesn’t matter to them. Give me a reason other than prices are going up again to renew. I can’t remember how long it’s been since being a member meant anything

True, but you wouldn't need to "wait till you have enough for a bulk shipment" then as mentioned above.
