    It is not a secret. Someone found it and sent it in to be graded. If you have a coin, the information to do this is on the PCGS website. Post a picture of your coin when you do.

    Below is the 3rd coin I ever sent to PCGS, Just got it back last week.

    I guess what I should have asked is, "Why does PCGS give a straight grade to coins that have so obviously been cooked, doctored, or artificially toned? Even my very armature eye knows that the coin I was referring to in my original post is not natural. Why is it not labeled questionable color like so many coins that may or may not have been dipped 50+ years ago?" I will look for a picture of the 2nd coin I sent a year or so ago, it;s NT and you can tell. I didn't get a Trueview on it so I'll have to locate the pictures and post them later.
