Baseball Hall of Fame class of 2020

The 2020 HOF ballot newcomers are intriguing - Derek Jeter being the obvious new inductee. Along with him are a group who were mostly all good players but I'm having a hard time convincing myself that any of them really belong - none of them have career stats that scream Hall of Fame to me. The list below is some of the better known, not a complete list. What do you all think?

Bobby Abreu
Jason Giambi
Cliff Lee
Eric Chavez
Josh Beckett
Alfonso Soriano
Carlos Pena
Paul Konerko
Brad Penny
Raul Ibanez
Adam Dunn

No HOFers here but it might help Schilling, Clemens and Bonds

I think Schilling will get in next year, not so sure of Bonds and Clemens, their numbers have been going up, but grudgingly. Larry Walker has a long shot next year, too.

Soriano? Konerko had some power. Hall of Very Good, or maybe Above Average.

Both had shorter careers, but we might start seeing that now that the players make so much money. Why play if you are set for life and you have pain. Retire and enjoy life.

IMO...a lot of very good but no great players worthy of the call to the hall. Should definitely help the holdovers next year.

Giambi I think would have a chance if not for the steroids. He has some pretty good stats, but he won’t get in cause of the roids and still being borderline with them. Konerko and Dunn both fell short of 500 homers. Konerko was a very good overall player but i don’t think he gets in. Kind of reminds me of Lance Berkman this year. The only name on the list that I think has a chance outside of Jeter is Bobby Abreu. I see him gaining steam over many years and eventually maybe getting in. He has very good career stats but he was a quiet player. Good rbi and run numbers, decent power, almost 600 doubles, 400 steals, tons of walks, and a really good career slash line of .291/.395/.475/.870
