Medallion and silver coin

Just wondering if anyone knows what these are. Recent finds metal detecting in the alley behind my home.

Looks like you found a Japanese silver Yen from the year Meiji 25 (1891 AD? Am I doing my math right?). I'm not enough of an expert in these to guarantee authenticity, but if genuine, it's in great shape for a detector find. Haven't seen that medal before, but would guess it's related to the Japanese mint, due to the depiction of a couple of pre-WWII Japanese coin designs. Cool finds!

Meiji 25 is 1892. Looks genuine to me. I've never seen the other one before. Can you post a pic of the reverse side. BTW, nice score !!! :)
