Government shutdown

Has the shutdown affected customs? Are packages from Europe going to take longer
to arrive ?

Mines going on 9 days as I type this. Not the longest for me yet, but it is for L.A. customs where it tends to go to from one seller I buy from.

Hadn't thought about that. Uh oh. I've got a few coming, eventually, I hope. Sigh. Random google-fu seems to indicate that imports and customs is considered part of security, and thus will continue but I suspect at lesser staffed rates and perhaps by unpaid employees who technically are not guaranteed back pay. How does that work anyway...

I had a package of books arrive a week ago from the UK. According to the USPS tracking, it spent about a day in NY customs.

I thought Pres. Trump signed an order that everyone would receive back pay for
hours worked. I didn't know that not being paid for hours worked was a possibility.

I wonder what happens with all the interest on the accumulated funds sitting in some account waiting to be paid out.

Well the package arrived today but the tracking still shows customs. So USPS error. Just glad it came.

Good. I'm glad an order was signed. Just the fact there was order that HAD to be signed to make it so it distressing.

Also good to hear packages are moving along.

I was wondering the same thing, but I had a few last week arrived from Germany in under a week.
