FairlanemanFairlaneman Posts: 10,424 ✭✭✭✭✭
Just another Common Date Merc that is not needed but Shucks I can't Find any thing for the Set. I thought this would go good in the 2nd Set but after buying it I found out this date is already there.image
Since this Coin is Blast White I think I will put it in the 1st Set and get rid of the Processed one that is there now. What do you think ? Wise Move.?....Dumb Move.?....I buy Too Many 43D's.?.....Getting Senile and Can't Remember Shi...?.... Or just Hooked By these Things.?

Where'd you get that thing, Spooly's tackle box???

I can see some color trying to shine through, but it looks like it took a bath in the lake as well. I trust scan does no justice???

You do Recognize where the Dull, Lifeless, Ugly Scans are From ?? Big Place in Dallas I think it was.
Heck just bought this thing and Can't remember where. CRS has Arrived.
Any way I hope it looks as nice as other Dimes bought from Heritage. Fingers Crossed Again.image
Edit Because I looked at the Scan Again. Man those Scans are Uggggllyyy For Sure !!imageimageimageimage

Speaking of '43s ... Thanks, Python and MR. Fairlaneman ... I may be pursuing Jeffs now, but I appreciate a nice Merc. I have a decent-quality circ set that is nearly complete and a very nice MS short set. Since you are the Merc experts, let me ask since I never have submitted a Merc for grading. I have a 1943-S (alas, not FB) that has the most amazing (guess I can't say mirrors because it is not proof) reflective, proof-like fields I've ever seen on a business strike Merc. It obviously was one of the first off a newly polished die. I know it's a special coin, but how rare are proof-like Winged Liberties and does PCGS tend to grade them favorably? ( As noted, it's not a great strike and it's likely LDS, but on the upside there are hardly any blemishes on the coin).
                      2. I got a 65 on two of mine, but I am sure they are 67's but I can argue all day, but wont do me any good...you might can tell that prooflike field from my icon....

                        Ken,

I can relate to your situation. I keep looking for 34-D, 38-D and 36-S in No Bands... very hard to find and it makes you want to buy sweet looking Mercs you already have.

I am holding out for the coins I can both afford and want...small group it seems. Good luck with your quest

                        Ken,

Out of the choices you gave us, I'd say: you probably buy too many '43-D's, and that you're hooked by Mercs. I hope you're not getting senile yet. image

Paid for an auction lot Sunday night from Heritage and got it today. They are probably swamped from Long Beach. Also bought a piece Sunday night from the website and have not received a shipping notification on it yet.

Your scan definitely gives it a more vibrant look.
