New customers at NYINC...

I’ve been taking tables at this show for more than a decade and have never seen so many fresh faces and enthusiastic new buyers. It was really encouraging! The freshest face was this one, of course. Nikolai is as selective as his father - 😉 - but seems to prefer gold.

He is going to be a numismatist like his dad!

Me? No, I was serious! @MrEureka seems to have the inside track into the RCM error market. He had a bunch of them on the right side of his case, right where Nikolai seems to be looking. Nikolai, being Canadian, must have thought they looked familiar, whereas daddy wanted him to look at the Mexican coins in the tray! :)

Congratulations @TwoKopeiki. Was it his first coin show?

Thanks @Pruebas - it was, indeed, his first one.

    very nice I must say.
Have a question: how does a silver planchet get to be struck with a 50 cent die made from Nickel?
there are other examples which are probably difficult to explain. have seen some very odd stuff.
If you are looking to sell these errors, just PM me. I have a friend who
A has the bucks to buy
B already has a huge collection
    and
    C is always looking.

I will chat with him today.

These four coins are probably all "mint sports". Yes, it's possible that they could be true errors, but it's unlikely. There are, however, somewhat similar items from this era that may be legitimate errors, and at least a couple that may be legitimate patterns and/or trial pieces.
