    A few scenarios:

They may not know much about grading and their brief research led them to GMA.

GMA bought the card and is using it as free advertising for their young company (I've never heard of them, maybe they're legit?).

Or the card was possibly trimmed to reach a higher grade with a lesser company.

Mint grading had too long of a backlog and they didn't want to wait?

because its like $2.50 a card with a 10 day turn around? but they hold no weight in the hobby anyways. you get what you pay for.

I understand that, but they are leaving a lot of money on the table not getting PCGS or Beckett to authenticate

some people don't care or don't understand or know that not all grading companies are created equal. also I look at it like this, its a 1/1. honestly, theres no reason to numerically grade it since no matter what, its the only one. some people just grade 1/1's as authentic if they think it will grade less than a 10 or gem. also, some people as a matter of personal preference, just want the card slabbed as cheap as possible for protection. and a 1/1 no matter the holder, grade or raw could potentially bring in the same money either way.

I agree grade don’t matter really on 1/1 but having that card I’m a GMA just seems wrong.

I would have phrased it as: Good Morning America is known to be a bit liberal in their grading.
