Saturday night...time for ~STUMP THE NUMISMATIST~

CoinstartledCoinstartled Posts: 10,135 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'll start. Ask me any halfway reasonable question regarding US coins, the graders or the collectors/dealers.

If I answer correctly I move on to the next question. If wrong or I take a pass, the person asking the question takes over the hot seat and the game continues.

This will be fun...

Liberty Seated quarter reverse design displays the feathers on the middle (second from top) arrow. The half and one dollar reverses do not have this design. Why? I do not know the reason, just thought maybe a numismatist on the Forum might know.

Duh. I should not post while watching a hockey game. I was flipping through the Redbook and saw the gold piece listed amongst the Roosevelts and did not think. You are right.

As for the Roosevelt Dime, technically it would be the 2020 with the lowest mintage

The Pikes Peak Mountain Mint was only making counterfeit Mexican pesos in 1816 for trade with Mexico, which at the time was only about 20 miles south of there on the other side of the Arkansas River. In fact, Col. Pike got arrested by the Mexicans as an illegal alien when he crossed the Arkansas in search of tequila!
