Is this a medal?

Picked this up for $15 because I thought it was interesting. It tests positive for 97% silver on an electronic tester. However, I am not sure if this is a medal or what? Maybe just a silver round? A cheap knockoff? Hard to see in the picture but the obverse has mirror like fields.

Looks like a uniface die trial made before letters were sunk into the die.
Very interesting. Thanks! Anyway to identify it any further? Maybe as to what it was used for?
Looks very cool

Interesting it doesn’t have any markings looks cast maybe but then polish? Lincoln was a very popular bust to make looks more than a Troy once so I’m ruling out silver round maybe someone’s are project?

It's got VDB on the bust at lower left. Post 1909 etc
What is the metal? Copper?
Yes, it would be considered a medal as it is not a coin.

Whatever it is it’s on a type one blank – I can see the cut & tear marks on the edge of the planchet

Who's signature is here?
What is that area above his head? Is that struck up or is it a reflection?
