I like 1. :) if you can afford RD I think it would be great to have a nice spot free one. You might have to invest in a small container that helps you control humidity.

Ahem. I was collecting when the 55's were minted. :o
Great hullaballoo and excitement all over the collecting world!
    Hoopla, too. :)
The 72's were totally different. Yeah, they were searched for but.....well......meh.

    :/

I had the same dilemma many years ago, before PCGS existed - which to choose a 55 DDO or a 72 DDO?
At the time, nice 55 DDOs were prohibitively expensive in gem (still are) so I opted to buy a raw MS64 red 72 DDO from JJ Teaparty.
I ultimately had that coin graded by PCGS - it came back in a MS65RD green label holder. Loved the coin for years but sold it when I had to raise funds for a large project. Wish I had that piece back.

Do I miss not having a 55DDO? Not really. If cost was no object, I'd probably like the 55 better. Even at today's prices, I have a hard time justifying owning one as there are plenty of other series I am more interested in.

I have had this one for a long long time.
Sorry for the old pics and very scratched slab.

But to fully address your dilemma Paradisefound, the 55 DDO is still and always will be
the king of the Lincoln series. The 55 DDO is a monster and as a variety guy I treasure mine.
The doubling really is amazing. You would also treasure yours when you pick one up. :)

Your 63BN DDO-1 is the PERFECT look on a Lincoln for me! <3

I bought this one years ago, maybe off Teletrade. It's in the SDB but I think it's a 63 Bn. I would love to have the 55, but the separation on these is prettydecent too. (I love the way the B and E are stacked up like cheap plastic chairs).
