Fount this 1980 nickel. Looks interesting. And maybe silver??

Looks like someone sanded on it?? Or made this way. Weird.

    Yes it looks harshly sanded and dirt is embedded on the nickel.

    It doesn’t look normal either. Looks silver????
    And the S on the back looks like it is higher than normal.

    Silver? Silver nickels were minted from 1942-1945.

    Do the ring test. Silver has a distinctive sound.

    Best to already know the sound of silver coins but, if not, then there are many vids on youtube here is an example:
