Looks like someone sanded on it?? Or made this way. Weird.

    Yes it looks harshly sanded and dirt is embedded on the nickel.

    It doesn’t look normal either. Looks silver????
    And the S on the back looks like it is higher than normal.

    Silver? Silver nickels were minted from 1942-1945.

    Do the ring test. Silver has a distinctive sound.
