Coin of the Year 2019

OnastoneOnastone Posts: 4,153 ✭✭✭✭✭

What do you predict the most collectible coin , the hottest or coolest coin that should be on our radar for 2019??

Hmmmm, now that I think about that, what was the must have coin of 2018 anyway? Was it the Palladium or the Block Island quarter or.....?????

I like the curved coins, so I'm thinking the 5 oz Apollo Puck is going to be right up there on the top of my list!

Morgan Dollars, based on what I see in dealers’ cases.

Right now it would be between the Apollo 5 oz and the Reverse Proof Palladium. The Mint could surprise us with something ultra special that hasn't been revealed yet.

Any interest in the gold American Liberty this year? I haven't seen the new design yet....has that been revealed?

And I see the Innobucks will be also made in RP. I'm not sure I like the look of those yet, look too much like tokens to me....kind of reminds me of those MacBucks.

Maybe BryceM is right, Morgans always stand the test of time and still look majestic!

    I like the Apollo coins.

Hands down, the Apollo 5oz puck gets my vote.

And I'm hopeful this looks great in silver...

If the design stands, it'll be my first coin with the date on both sides.

That looks like a great design! I love the two flags together!!!!!!

Apollo 11, RP Palladium, and possible (but doubtful) American Legion... and maybe the “intentional” error from the Mint.

The American Legion coin looks good. Very well designed and thought out in regards to placement of the devices.

Edited to add: I would personally prefer the date be centered on the coin for symmetry sake.

    Gold version is completely different...

I like the gold version line art better than the silver. Especially love the eagle. And I think the Obverse will work well on a small gold coin (0.850-inch diameter); but for me, the message -- American Legion 100th Anniversary -- gets lost. And I'm not sure the Reverse works for a small coin.

Sadly, except for the Apollo 11 and reverse-proof Palladium and American Legion coins, I haven't seen anything else that interests me from the U.S. Mint for 2019.
