@alohagary I just found this 2 coin souvenir set 1 of hawaii and one of alaska each saying they are good for $1 in 1959.
The hawaiin piece was redeemable at the maui chamber of commerce until noon friday july 1st 1960
We have had many this past year from common to really rare... I believe we have some up currently on our site coinhelp.com subsection coins and tokens of HI
It is also now part of an organized US Mint medal series (formally organized in 2014).
Struck by the US Mint for President Eisenhower use. Designed by Frank Gasparro. Original mintage was 400. US Treasury destroyed 105 unissued medals. National Archives permanently holds 28 unissued medals (were in the possession of Ike when he completed his 2nd term as POTUS and turned over to the National Archives). Net available to collectors is 267.

Gomez-C2-07 is Medcalf 2M-94.

PCGS and ANACS has not graded any.
NGC has graded a total of 6.

High hammer price is $2640. (Exceedingly higher than Medcalf's 1991 catalog price of $650).

Gomez-C2-07 in the first image is NGC MS-64. I'm testing the market with this entry.
