Barber Half Dollar...

Barber half dollars series has low mintage.....why does it not show that in pricing?

    The price guides have been well behind the market for many years. I'll never forget one time when I bought a nice original midgrade set at bid and I would just price them at trends. I made it through 4 or 5 coins and thought something isn't right. Trends was less than greysheet at the time! I don't know what powers control the pricing...but it reminds me of greysheet bids on the better seated stuff that you could automatically figure you could sell for 2-3 times greysheet bid for years! That's not true with Seated stuff now but still is with Barbers IMHO!

    The Barber $1/2 are still underpriced.
    I remember talking with a dealer who mentioned that he once had a full roll of '14 P $1/2.
    It had never occurred to me to get more than one of a date/mintmark.

    He created a monster, I now have about #24 of them [1914 P]
    And most other dates, including dimes & quarters.

    And I have done very well with them, I always buy what others don't like.

    back then I was getting VG's for as low as $18.
