The price guides have been well behind the market for many years. I'll never forget one time when I bought a nice original midgrade set at bid and I would just price them at trends. I made it through 4 or 5 coins and thought something isn't right. Trends was less than greysheet at the time! I don't know what powers control the pricing...but it reminds me of greysheet bids on the better seated stuff that you could automatically figure you could sell for 2-3 times greysheet bid for years! That's not true with Seated stuff now but still is with Barbers IMHO!
The Barber $1/2 are still underpriced.
I remember talking with a dealer who mentioned that he once had a full roll of '14 P $1/2.
It had never occurred to me to get more than one of a date/mintmark.
He created a monster, I now have about #24 of them [1914 P]
And most other dates, including dimes & quarters.
And I have done very well with them, I always buy what others don't like.
back then I was getting VG's for as low as $18.
