I'm wondering how strictly enforced it will be !!!
Fingers Crossed but I bet they stay that way until they break.
Remains to be seen. At least something has been done. Maybe the marking is a start but who knows how much is out there? Chinese producers been cranking them out in the interim is a good bet.
Criminal justice in Ghina is an oxymoron. Only US law will help.

Chinese penalties , which are laughable IMHO, are for Ecommerce sites. I'm wondering about the producers. in some cases could be the same. We'll see. TBC
Yawn, too bad the US govt wont institute our own penalties for Chinese counterfeits, oh wait they are too busy making $$$ off made in china. Semper Fi!
Well, there is this https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/485 It needs to be enforced........
U.S. courts don't have jurisdiction.
I'm sorry folks but I don't have too much faith in Chinese law.

Neither do I....However, ours need serious enforcement.
We need to go after Russia, they are really stepping it up on the lower end counterfeit market.
Here's some counterfeit crap coming out of Russia:

Really bad news for the coin world.....
Rotsa ruck.
That is good news. But we shall see if it is simply lip service or whether the Chinese government will really enforce it.
In any event, considering all the fakes now out there and new fakes to be produced in other countries, it will always be "buyer beware" on ungraded coins.
Only after we purge our domestic counterfeiting operations first.
Thanks for this info @mapleman.
Looked up the Notorious Market List, “2017 Notorious Markets List Spotlights Global Piracy and Counterfeiting, Defends American Products and Workers.” https://ustr.gov/about-us/policy-offices/press-office/press-releases/2018/january/2017-notorious-markets-list

Excerpt fron full report, “CHINA. As in past years, several commenters continue to identify China as the primary source of counterfeit products. Some Chinese markets, particularly in larger cities, have adopted policies and procedures intended to limit the availability of counterfeit merchandise, but these policies are not widely adopted, and enforcement remains inconsistent. At the same time, some online markets are cooperating with law enforcement on counterfeiting and piracy operations offline. It is reported that in many instances, Chinese authorities engage in routine enforcement actions in physical markets. The United States welcomes these efforts and recommends their expansion to combat more effectively the scale of the reported problem in China, with a special focus on the following key markets:”
You know it's bad when Russian Mail order brides are made in China.

for those who know me, or of me, they know I am definitely NOT for counterfeits and hate that "nothing is done about it. nothing meaning extremely little=nothing.
BUT,what conclusive evidence do you have to make such a statement ?
all you did is post a link to a seller from China. This seller might be a very young person who is trying to get honestly established and is using feebay as his venue, with most likely authentic coins.(until proven otherwise by you)
Remember, innocent before guilty.
do you have any proof the coins listed there are not authentic?
If so, you should make every effort to get Feebay to remove them!
Please advise, hopefully with absolute proof.
Blanket warning on this thread, stop with the political and borderline racist posts. I have already warned and deleted a few, the next one gets put on a time-out.

Thank you I been watching this thread I could of easily gone the BAD/DARK path of comments.
Based on my (limited) understanding, it seems that most foreign counterfeiters are relatively small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. Is the US government going to try to go after some guy in China or Russia or wherever who sold $50K of fake coins? Doing so would be very difficult and someone else would just pop up in their place.
Coins are also a very small piece of the counterfeiting problem, which includes larger markets such as fashion, electronics, software, etc.
If anyone has any concrete and cost effective steps the US government can take to greatly reduce the problem of foreign counterfeit coins, I'd love to hear it. Personally, I've never heard one.
I find counterfeit slabs to be a much more troublesome problem. A US consumer can do their due diligence before purchasing and potentially get burned by a fake slab. I also believe the grading companies can much better address the problem of fake slabs and have made good progress in that area.

First, the link was NOT to a seller in China, it is a seller in Russia. Second, if you can't tell that his coins are obvious counterfeits, you should not be buying raw coins. The rims, surfaces, lettering and color are all dead giveaways, Ali Baba sells better counterfeits. Here are some very obvious counterfeits he has already sold:
