1983 D/D penny. My first discovery of this type of error. To bad penny in bad shape. Just an example

Are you seeing a doubled mint mark or what? Little too much goop in all the nooks and crannies. Peace Roy

D/D? Need a zoom on mm. With the current pic looks like a corrosion dome.
Trying to send the picture saying I have to wait for it to be approved??
There is a D horizontal underneath the proper D. Yes corrosion. What’s the best way to clean something when your not supposed to clean. It’s a nice find. Probably not worth nothing due to the grade of it. But a good example.
The problem with zinc rot is that once it starts it is almost impossible to stop without further damaging the coin. If you plan on keeping that cent you should keep it away from other cents.
[Your title says 1993 but it is a 1983]
Is there a known D/D for this year? If there is and yours matches photos of it, then you have one.
But, if there is no such known variety then I think you just have a damaged/corroded cent.
Your coin is not a D/D. It is corroded. Keep looking and Good Luck!
@timbobb Forgot to post this earlier.

It’s corrosion!!!
Yes corrosion is a bummer. WellI cleaned the coin as good as could. I still think it’s D over horizontal D. 🤔. Anymore thoughts???
The elevated portion below the mm is part of the corrosion and now that the zinc is fully exposed expect a lot more corrosion. Zinc rot will eat away the coin from the inside.
More info, with similar pic as yours

You should get the Cherrypicker’s guide.

I will definitely get these books on coins as soon as a I get some extra cash. Unfortunately I have to ask questions at the moment. But y’all are teaching me new things as well.
Done with this penny. Thought it was what I thought I could have been. But corrosion took over.
