That odd feature is sort of common on the 42 type 1 and type 2 also and many of the 42-45 silvers. The 43 can be wild if you look close. Look at the tips of the T’s on the “war” years. They have a Batmanesque flair,
It might be a minor variety, not sure from photos but in this 1942 year the money is in the extreme noses or letters.
Th doubling on the FS 101 and 102 have a more extreme nose doubling and there are distinctive lines around some letters on the FS 102, the TR of trust for example.
