Canadian Silver

Is there a way to visually separate the dimes and quarters from
1967 and 1968. Some are 80% and some are 50%.

I've heard someone say they can, I don't know if I believe them or not. I can't tell, most dealers will just buy it as 50%.

Yes, if you have one of those expensive gadgets that analyses the metal content. Otherwise no.

yes you can... if you have a good, very good ear.
drop the coin from about a foot on to marble kitchen counter and listen...
however, you need to drop a 80 % (1966 and older) before so you can compare.
the sound is very different. although, not a 100% guarantee. For me, it works every time.
I read somewhere that there is a gadget available which u connect to your cell phone. It measures the sound frequency.

    This.

If the buyers won't pay more, why kill yourself figuring it out?

Since the OP wrote visually I still say no.

    Ajaan,
you are right. we were trying to reflect our own experiences instead of reading and answering the op's question properly. the mind jumps ahead of the actual fact. sorry.
on the other hand, the op said dimes and quarters 67 and 68.
    I like to state this:
dimes and quarters made in 1967 are either 50 % silver or 80 % silver- I believe not visually recognizable.
dimes and quarters made in 1968 are either 50% silver or 100% nickel- I know, visually recognizable.
the difference between nickel coins and silver coins can be visually recognized.

Thank you everyone for your help.
My solution is this: dimes and quarters made 1967 will be sold as 50%.
Since the 1968 production is visually differentiated,
once that is completed I will sell the silver also at 50%.
    Thank you once again!!

You can just test 1968 quarters with a magnet!
