I think it perfectly plausible this coin has mint errors, here is side by side pics. Now be nice, no snide remarks please. Just look

Speaking unsnidely (that's a word, right?), there is a difference in damage caused post-mint and mint errors created within the mint. Your job is to determine which this is.

Your examples are 30 years apart. A lot happens within 30 years. Probably something along the way.

With a straight face and a grateful heart, the beat up coin on the right is all about post mint damage that approaches aggravated assault. IMO. Peace Roy
