This coin is basically the poster child for the argument I have made for about 12-15 years on the US Coin forum. And that is that an original surfaces designation is needed to protect coins like this. It graded AU53 which seems fair until one compares it to other examples that have been enhanced to get a higher grade. A coin such as this is worthy of a premium to some collectors given the look in contrast to those coins that just do not.

Mostly at larger coin shows. I have my best luck buying is when I can see the coin in hand. And even then things don't always go as planned.
