A great career is over.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Super great career. Beltre was the man - offense and defense.
Why he doesn’t get heat for steroids is beyond me
Rules are no longer in place in professional sports.
My guess is he'll be a first-ballot HOF'er, with a percentage in the 80's.
He ended up on these all-time career lists:
16th in hits.
11th in doubles.
30th in homers.
24th in RBI's.
14th in extra-base hits.
14th in total bases.
8th in at-bats.
14th in games played.
He'd probably get more HOF support except that he was not a black-ink achiever, more of a gray-ink guy. He was a very good player for a long time who compiled some good bottom-line stats cause he was rarely injured until his last couple of years.
he was more entertaining than most. Always sure handed and a treat to watch at bat
Can't recall why the Dodgers let him go.
Was it cheapskate McCourt?
I don’t recall his name coming up in the steroids discussion, although he does look quite jacked.
Should have retired as a Red Sox but Sox brass though he was washed up a few years before he actually was.
Here's a list with him on it. Quite a few other big names.

he did have a huge outlier season where he hit 48 home runs. then he came back and settled in the 25 or so range. that would be my suspicion.
I was surprised to see Pedro Martinez name on the list. I had not heard this before.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
What team does he go into Cooperstown representing?
Wow, 8th in total ABs for all-time. That is what really stands out to me.
He ended his career with 11,068 AB's.
