$5 Hawaii note

Greetings!

Recently I have stumbled across a 1934 $5 Hawaii note and I am trying to gather more information about the bill and find out the value. I have recently been getting into coin and currency collecting and I think I may have found something intriguing. If anyone has any knowledge about the bill or any information about it I would be so interested to hear about it! Thank you in advance!

Here’s one source of info - not sure how accurate they are, though, as your serial number is outside their suspected range for this note...

What you have there is a 1934 $5 Hawaii Mule note (back plate #1147). It's value would be somewhere in the range of $75. Hawaii overprint notes were issued during World War II to the Hawaiian Islands. This was in case the Japanese invaded Hawaii the currency could be easily deemed worthless. This is why it has the brown print and the Hawaii overprint, easier to spot.
