Mercury Dime Question 2

I also have this 1943 S Mercury Dime that has an anomaly between the 4 and 3 in the date. Might look like the top of a three or just photo illusion that appears like something that is not really there(their is a term for this?). Here's a photo.

    It's probably just a contact mark from something.

    Look at the scratch underneath the date - my guess
    is that it's connected to what you see between the
    two digits - but even if it's not connected, it doesn't
    look like an error.

    The term you were looking for is one I've used here
    a lot - Pareidolia - or a bit more specifically,
    "Numismatic Pareidolia"
