Tried. Too overpriced for the items for sale. Nothing of high enough quality to justify the extra cash.
I have bought from them. No problem.
I agree with thefinn. I submitted a best price about 2 years ago on a Chinese coin. it was declined and I emailed him what is the best price he could take and he sent a reply along the lines of go discount shopping somewhere else and then blocked me. It worked out good and saved me some money and hassle of dealing with him.
No problems for me, but my last transactions were over 10 years back and all sub $30. I did not find any decent priced fix price listing and never did bid on any of his offerings.
I just reviewed their offerings on Mexican coins. Some nice pieces, including high grades, and prices seem fair considering eBay takes a near 15% bite.
Overpriced, tried to offer a few times, especially 1 I really needed, would barely budge. I don't bother with him anymore.
I have bought from him many times over the years and all transactions were executed flawlessly.

Took the plunge on a nice 8 Reales.
I’ll post photo when it arrives.
Thanks to all who chimed in with opinions.

How did you know?
You told us.
But not the specific coin.
Any non-specialist eBay seller might ((MIGHT)) sell a pricey world crown like that once a month, if lucky.
We made a deal below BIN price.
It was still a bit high, but this coin has great eye appeal. Also, I like the date.
So look forward to getting it in hand.
The early 1860s were not too stable in Mexico, and then the French invaded. Lots of Mexico City coins were buried when the French were marching from the port cities to Mexico City. About fifteen years ago, I bought an eBay lot of twenty-three Caps and Rays 8 reales all dated 1863 with Mexico City mintmarks, all very nice Mint state pieces. The seller said they were the remainder of a hoard of 100 pieces that he and his brother found with a metal detector to the north of Mexico City. Nice coins, I had no specific reason to disbelieve his story. Still have the coins.
@BillDugan1959 Those sound nice!

It was quite a good deal, but a lot of nice Caps and Rays 8 reales were available in 2002 and 2003 for some reason. Richard A. Long was still selling "quantity" bulk lots of 8 reales in his sales too, but these 1863 pieces didn't come from him.
To find a hoard of them would be cool!

@asheland Other than a few day trips to Tijuana, I have no personal experience traveling down in Mexico. But I am not rushing down there with a metal detector.
Any updated experiences with this eBay dealer? Thanks in advance.

I have had none.
