So here's another beautiful dollar but if it doesn't look like this it's not worthy, like this could never have been dipped properly and retoned over time in tissue paper, right? Nobody here knows everything and nobody here has owned these coins long enough to really know what has happened to these coins over the years, there are no witnesses. What we really know is we simply don't. Everything is an educated guess, we must remember that no matter who says it its only a guess or an opinion.

It’s true that sometimes nobody really knows. Other times, completely false. It depends on the coin and who’s viewing it.

True too, thanks.
And if I may add, Just because someone can afford the best does't mean he/she knows the most.

I don't know how that's even in the least bit relevant or helpful in this conversation.
Regardless, I do find it interesting that someone can post a photo of a coin that appears to be obviously AT and virtually EVERYBODY jumps on the "I love it!" bandwagon. Again, it looks great in the video, so I have to reserve judgment about the coin until I see it in hand, if I ever have the opportunity.

Agreed. Looks completely artificial to me, at least in the images. Makes me wonder what lies beneath.
Edited to add that it appears fine in the video, so take the above comment with a grain of salt. I'd like to see the coin in person.
I confess that I held off on commenting on this coin due to the look/color. And that I would likely be swayed positively if the coin in hand looked like the video with rolling luster. Still, I would be curious why a coin like this had not been seen by JA. This is a coin that I would never buy without a second or third (or fourth) trusted opinion.

What makes this piece obviously AT?
The speckling and color pattern in the snapshot photo is something I've only seen on coins that were completely screwed with and often repaired underneath the color, and I've seen a lot of them. I've never seen anything close to a nice coin with that toning. So while I can't speak to the science of whether or not that toning can possibly be "right", that toning (as it appears in that image) is still obviously AT to me.
That said, I'll repeat what I said before. It looks great in the video - NOTHING LIKE THE SNAPSHOT - so I have to reserve judgment about the coin until I see it in hand, if I ever have the opportunity.

Thank you for the explanation. I didn't have a problem until you mentioned these negative attributes, I am no where near as educated with AT as you or other experts that post here. I will defer to those who have the greater experience in this matter.

Not a fan of the toning. Sorry
Nothing to apologize for! It is what keeps the market working.

Congratulations on finding such a nice AU example. You will find a lot of these with a detail grade which makes yours exceptional.
You have to smile when watching that video.

And that many photos do not reflect the reality of the in hand view, best reflected in the video in this case.
