Grades just in

Pretty thrilled with the results. All of the 1972 baseball were raw purchases from eBay. The hockey was a combo of two packs I opened a few years back and a recent lot I bought off of eBay. The 1975’s are head scratchers, they’re obviously tough on those. And the 1973 FB came from a raw set I picked up from a local store for $300.

The 1973 OJ Simpson is a POP 1 or 2. If they have updated since your grade it is a POP 1!!! Congrats. Do not know
Hockey well, but you obviously crushed it there too.

if you had to guess, where do you think the 75's got dinged as far as the grade? Chipping? Centering? Corners? Would like to see a couple of those once you get them back. I think a lot of people scratch their heads with the 75's...

Thanks, I’ll try and post a few pictures when I get them back. To answer Kep13, no idea why the 1975’s were mostly 8’s, I don’t normally collect that year but have heard they’re particularly tough on that set. I have quite a few more 1971 hockey cards from the lot I bought to sub, it’s a little tougher now with a 50 card minimum

Very impressive sub, especially considering the raw singles were purchased off ebay.

    75s are always very tough.

Wow. This is impressive. PSA needs to add the sport with the cert listing though because for a brief moment the 1971 topps I thought you hit the megamillions on at first. LOL

Congrats on the nice cards and that OJ, we've got to see it!

    Thanks,
I’m anxious to get OJ back, I knew a lot of the hockey had a chance to pull some 10’s, wasn’t expecting it on the Simpson.

Nice hit! I have never had success like that on older cards.

May I ask how you determined what you subbed? Did you start off with 200 to 300 to get down to 50, etc... I am just trying to understand how people go about putting a sub together.

Whatever the process, it must be better than mine. I throw my stack of cards in the air and whichever land face up get sent off to PSA!

Super sub. You mentioned that many of the hockey were from a lot. Were the 72 baseball also from a big lot or 2, or simply individuals cards over the years?

The 1972’s were all acquired over the years from either Greg Morris or Zorbaca. I set up the sub in a way that I could tell what card was from what seller, I’ll have to double check to see who the big hits were from.

You are correct, I started with about 300 1972’s and kept looking them over for a few months, taking out anything I didn’t think had a shot at a 9. I did the same with the 1971 hockey, I still have quite a few that are 8/9 type quality
