What say you?
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

Here is a 401 I picked off eBay from a bad photo earlier this morning. The sharp corner tip and straight lines are stand outs. Don’t rely on CoinFacts images of these varieties, as several are misattributed examples

Oh, your top picture looks less like the 401 than I had originally thought when messaging from eBay. The 401 has a sharp apex/ point at the right tip. Does it have the straight line going northwest from the ribbon point.
I will say that after owning and holding more than a dozen of the 401, there are various stages of the 401, technically making additional varieties, some have more straight lines than others added in progression. Your example almost looks like it is missing the upper lines
There are 4 cherrypickers varieties of this coin, 7 recognized by variety vista, and I have found a few not recognized yet.

Does it resemble this? This is a 404

Not a nickel man but I'd say they do not match.

Wise words for sure! A very unfortunate circumstance when the worlds best grading service publishes images of their mistakes that lead to a great deal of confusion and consternation!
Also, Rocco knows his Jeffs!
