Why not just offer it at wholesale prices here?

I simply assume that wholesale would be melt. There is only a very small market for these very attractive Olympic coins in Sterling... unless you have the one with the date error 73/-74. some time ago I had one and even that was not easy to find a buyer for.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life

As they say a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. If I'm going to sell it at melt, it will be locally to a buyer I trust. Why take the time to package it up, risk the postal system trip, and other potential payment/buyer problems? If I can squeeze another 10% out for the trouble of probably one set at time, then that's fine. But otherwise it's just easier to wholesale it all in one shot along with anything else I have that needs to go.
