Topps Heritage Question - what the heck is going on?

Hi all. Quick question for some of you Heritage folks out there. I have not touched Heritage since the 2014 edition. Before that, I would normally bust two or three cases when they came out. I never found any of the big hits, but it was fun and I basically made my money back on ebay when I sold sets/team sets/inserts/relics/autos, etc. It was just fun to do and I enjoyed it. I'm looking now at Blowout and the cases pre-sell for just under $1,000.00. Just a few years back you could get them for around $650/$700 if I'm not mistaken. I talked to my local LCS owner about a week ago and he said he may be able to "do better" on the case cost, but not that much. Does anyone know what is going on with the cost of these?
Thanks,
Chris

Judge/Ohtani mania the past couple years.
I have never bought a case, but the hobby box price at my LCS tends to start out low and increase a little as the year goes on. When I have looked at online prices they seem to do the same. This is only my second year collecting Heritage so I don't know what previous years looked like.
