SI for Kids - Tiger Woods/Lebron James

The Tiger Woods SI for Kids Rookie [1996] is selling for big bucks, yet a 2003 SI for Kids Lebron James Rookie is very cheap. Lots more printed of the James issue, more RC’s of Lebron, or good value on the LBJ? Any thoughts?

It's Tiger's only release that year, James had dozens to choose from. Golf collectors are more accepting of SIFK as true rookies (since in many cases it's the only option) than BkB collectors (who just consider it a random oddball among all the RCs). If LeBron was pictured in a pro uniform, it might be more desirable.

Print runs probably have something to do with it as well, but it's not like even the 1996 cards are scarce.

wasnt the woods SI for kids selling for over $100,000 in psa 10 in the late 1990's? it seems I can remember even back then what a crazy price that was.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

I think only one sold at that price in PSA 10.

Ok, didnt know if it was "Booking" at that price or if it was a one off sale. Seems I had a copy of the SMR from maybe 99 or 2000 that talked about the card. there was also a news report I watched that showed a family who found an intact copy of the si for kids and painstakingly removed and cut the card out in hopes for a 10. they ended up with a 9 if I remember right

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Just checked a couple Beckett Golf mags from 2002, they had it listed as a $250 card in NM (which is probably still an accurate price).

Thanks for the feedback, just purchased several SI for Kids with all cards for $10 a piece. Wait and see
