PCGS Coin Restoration Questions. Examples shown that might be sent in.

Are these the type of coins, less than nice eye appeal, that PCGS restores? I understand that the grade will not change, lower, if the coin is restored? Do the cert numbers stay the same if the coin is restored? Can spots be removed without taking off all of the tone? Does PCGS conserve less than MInt State examples, AU58?

The only ones who can answer your question are the people who actually do restoration work. The toning on many of the pieces you illustrate seems quite old and "deep". I'm not sure I would be willing to risk a try at restoration without seeing some before and after examples of coins toned in a similar manner.
The result depends on who does the work. Two of these will be easy to "fix." One I'd leave as is and sell the others (easy for me to say) as is and get a brilliant coin if that's what you wish. Too many of us "scratch the itch" when we see something we need rather than wait for the one time purchase.
