Selling some old coins.

Hey folks,
Found some old copper coins, don’t know what they are. First $50 takes the pair! Maybe someone can shed some light onto these for me?

I don't know if this post is a trolling post or a joke post or a sincere post, but I'll let you know that both pieces imaged above are gold, not copper, and are worth substantially more than $50 each.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Tom B, Thank you! I can see how the one looks like gold, but the last one def has a copper /brass tone tonit when you put it under light. It looks orange kinda. Are you sure that one is gold? If it’s more than $50, how much more? I thought they’d be worth something becaus menof their age.
PCGS website is a very valuable tool which provides information for all levels of coin enthusiasts and is a good start to answers your questions. A good suggestion is to do a little research to determine what you have before trying to sell something. PCGS has a price guide but you have to understand that in most cases especially common coins the prices identified are retail prices of coins that have been properly graded and certified by PCGS. If the coin is not certified, then there is always a chance that the coin may not be real or not gradable due to damage or mishandling. Grading is another area to learn and there is an explanation of grading on the PCGS website under Resources and then PCGS Grading Standards. The example shown is various grading designations for a Morgan silver dollar. There are many resources available on the web which can help get you in the ball park for estimating the grade of the exact coins you have shown. Like Tom said, they are gold and worth considerably more than $50.
You have found a good website to sell things on the Buy Sell Trade (BST) section. My suggestion is to do a little research and try to determine the value. Take good, close up pictures of both the front and back of each individual coin and then put a reasonable price and sell it on the BST. I have bought and sold on the BST website with no problems as most of the people on this website are outstanding. The problem is every once in awhile, there are cases were a few bad apples slip in and in a few cases the transaction is not good. Other members try to root out these people. As in life, knowledge is important and you have to be vigilant when selling or buying on a public website.
Good luck.
Good Good Tom. Take these coins to a local trusted coin shop and ask them what they are. Post what area of the country you are in and someone will know of a good coin store near you
New Jersey! When ever I’ve taken coins in before they tell me face value. I’ve never sold anything because I though I had something. My collection isnt to bad. But they told me I always over paid for my coins and that I was stupid. I need an honest coin shop!
Go to this site, find a PNG dealer near you.

@OldEastside did I just get hustled!?!? I had some buy my other Indian heads 4 of them. 175. I feel like throwing around the idea that they could be fake really brought the price down. That’s like the stuff people were saying about my babe ruth photo. It’s not real I’ll give you $100 they say. Turns out it was real and sold for thousands. I could’ve sold the farm. Did I just sell the farm!??!
Loris88
If you sold the coins to jclovescoins you definitely did not sell the farm. He will treat you right. If the coins are real, he'll give you a fair price for them.
Bob Sr CEO Fieldtechs
You didn't just sell the FARM, but you are getting an education weather you like it or not.
Do some research.
JClovescoins has the right idea IF you dont want to do the leg work to finding out what you have.
Send them to him and get his Honest opinion.

@1peter1223 ok. So the $10 coin I have is graded MS62 and that means it’s worth $560 for the gold alone
Looking forward to receiving these 2 and the other silver coins, as others have mentioned I will treat you fairly upon receipt. Have a great evening and I will be looking for tracking tomorrow.

Use caution guys. The last coin posted is a fake for sure. I suspect other might be too, and you might be getting hustled.
Please send me the tracking number as you promised to do this morning.
You’ll be disappointed by the outcome.

That last coin is laughably bad. The other the pictures are laughably bad.
A note about tracking numbers....do not put any stock in them until the number is shown as at the PO and on it's way. A tracking number can be generated without any intention of actually mailing a package.
