I think I can see what you are talking about, but it would be too big and the wrong shape. I'm guessing PCGS got it right. That would be an awesome pick to get a 38-O
6-7 of them are missing
11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
I see one 8 and one 9.

I think the label is right.
+1
The Mintmark is in the wrong position for a '38-O. Reference books are a wonderful invention. I'll bet PCGS has them all!
Of course it is, I was joking
11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
Back in the very early 1970's I had an 1839-O that looked just like that one.
Shocking the difference in wear, this one is a PCGS 3 holder too

Gradeflation

This coin is shown with an ICG label but you were possibly "joking" again right.
Although the rims are not full, IMO It is under graded. I'd grade it a G-4 if it was in the office today.
Definitely an 1839-O.
Kind regards,

That image of the coin (ICG label AG-3) in our host's holder does not change my opinion. However, I'll bet it is worth more now.
Get a bean!
AG 3.8 = 80% of rims separated!

Beautiful coin.
Photos from PCGS CoinFacts.
I see 3 different size mint marks across 1838-O and 1839-O, with the 1838-O the tallest and furthest to the right.
Rotated photo of the AG-3 ebay coin from PCGS Cert verification.
Thanks to @cameonut2011.

Looks like the third mint mark placement for the 1839-O, and the outline of the 9 is fairly clear.
Attempted enlargement of ebay photo.
On this (poor) photo, it looks like a tall O and 2 8s on the ebay coin, but the wear may have affected the shapes?
But the PCGS Cert verification photo is much better....
Just how many of the '38-O are known, graded, reported?
A roster of 6 graded is shown on the PCGS CoinFacts pages
http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/6226
Plus another 3 in lower grades.

It looks like an 1839-O to me!
Nice work from the cert verification image

Much better than my attempt to enlarge the ebay photo.
