Regency Auctions

I must say that I have become more and more impressed with these auctions with each one. I find that they have more high quality coins that interest me than the other major auction houses. Recently I have been disappointed by the selection of coins from the other major auction houses and continue to be pleasantly surprised by the offerings from the Regency auctions. I have sold and bought from them and the service has been excellent. It seems like they work a bit harder than others and it shows.

Gazes, the check is in the mail! Thank you!

I started this auction house to be different and to service Legend customers. We really deal in what Legend customers want. Apparently the rest of the world want the same coins. My thing has always been about TRUE quality. Before someone jumps on here and shows a weak lot-it will happen. We allow for huge consignments to do that,

This last sale really was over the top. Next sale will be smaller and more affordable to more people.

The one thing I am especially proud of-we do NOT break up collections. I do not understand why others do that that at all. You work so hard to build your set. Then to break it up and have pieces in the back of a catalog? really?

Yes you did a great job on the DW collection all sold at no reserve !

    Thank you :)

probably the only (online) catalog I LOOK FOR each month. The few bust half dimes they have are stunners!

I agree. I love looking at 600 nice coins instead of 6,000 trying to weed out 5,400 by looking at pictures. I'll also say that the monthly auction format is really good too the way the lots move across the screen and you see how much time you have to bid again.

I couldn't make it to the auction, so I had to bid on-line. About 10 lots in I'm looking at this guy on the video feed looking around, making some bids, etc. I sent a message to the auctioneer, "Why am I looking at this guy on the video feed?" Immediately he covered up the camera, and fumbled around until he could put some paper or tape over it. He didn't realize his camera was on, LOL. I know who it was too, but I won't say it here.

I was rolling on the floor laughing. I didn't say anything else in the "auctioneer box" because I needed to bid on a couple of coins and didn't want to get cut off for being a smarta$$. Tell him black electrical tape is the best and least obvious.

The Konstantine auction was amazing. Wonderful coins. Over the top.

Much of it was beyond my means but I bid hard (and lost). I'll be back. Please keep your standards high.

    Great auction.
Just one question. Does the final price realized reported by Legend include the 17.5% buyers fee?
I won the lovely 1918-D 50c in PCGS/CAC MS-65 but thought I won it for $23K plus 17.5% buyers fee but the bid sheet shows price realized was only $23K.
Does that mean I won the coin for $4K less than What I thought I did?

I looked again at the prices realized and Legend finally updated the prices realized to include the buyers fee.

Legend does it right.... From their beautiful catalogs or I should say hard cover novels right on down to their personalized service from a very helpful professional staff their cutting edge auctions have great coins, and if you are playing the other side of the fence the consigning is such a pleasure with great food and in conjunction with the wonderful PCGS members only show I highly recommend taking one in.... I am finding it more difficult finding coins in auction without representation, except the Legends auctions. ever coin I bought from a Legends auction, I liked. I can't say that for the others.

  • I've bought from Legends auctions. Their catalogs are indeed the best in the business. They respond to questions very quickly and accurately.

One thought....I've noted that Legend will overlook some lower prices realized when the description reads "The last PCGS 67 sold for...." In one case, the exact coin Legend was auctioning had been sold by Heritage within the last year and not mentioned. To Legend's credit, the price realized was higher.

Selectivity, selectivity, selectivity. They avoid loading up their auctions with low quality dealer stock that clogs some larger auctions.

    All glory is fleeting.

I too agree, I really like the legend auction format and have for some time, much time and effort spent on making the full color catalog, and picking choice coins for the auctions. Good various selections as well. I often bid on a piece or two, most of the time I don't win, but I enjoy bidding just the same.

I truly believe when the time comes to liquidate my collection, I will choose legend auctions to handle it.

I've bought something in probably the last 6 or eight. Two were AB coins... thanks AB!

Well, Legend is off to a fabulous start. I love looking at the lots. Some are within my means and they're usually fun to pursue.

I hope they keep standards high and don't let it get too big. I'm sure there will be a temptation to let it slide. If I were to sell everything today I'd be inclined to go with them (if they thought any of my stuff was worthy).
