Will we ever see a PSA 9.5 Mint +

I would hate to regrade my high end 9's but I wouldn't mind having it since not all 9's are created equal.

i think i would rather the 10's be scrutinized more. when you start glancing through ebay, you would be surprised at how many 10's appear to look more 9's. maybe just 'pristine'. centering near perfect, no print dots, back centering near perfect. kind of like the black label 10's from beckett.

Work hard and you will succeed!!

I've always thought it was silly that there was "mint" and "gem mint". IMO a card is either "mint" (perfection) or it isn't, so the PSA 10 should be "mint", PSA 9.5 (if it existed) NM-MT+, PSA 9 NM-MT, etc, etc. It's even more egregious to have a graded designation higher than "gem mint".

Most of the time I can’t tell the difference between a PSA 9 and a PSA 10. Would depend on the mood of the grader that day. 😀

To me PSA10 is a PSA 9.5 already. Mint is the highest grade. Gem Mint is the best of those. To me a 9.5 would be the same as having an 8.25.

I don't think the graders at PSA ever fully adopted the .5 idea they started some years back, and want no part of it. Its an abomination to them, and I have to agree.

I sure hope not. I personally like the 1-10 scale they have in place today.

I hope not too. But I bet a lot of those that say “I hope not” would send their 9s in for review if 9.5 exisited. And for that reason, it someday will likely be a reality. Sales slow, cash flow needed, public company needs to meet a quarterly estimate ... presto, the grading system is revisited.

After they have 9.5 cards they will need new holders that go up to 11

    Cue spinal tap

I have seen many PSA 10's from 4SC that look like 8's at best.

Just stay away from sub grades PSA.
    Beckett doesn't do it right.
    Sub grades of 9, 9, 9.5, and 10 is a total of 37.5, divided by 4 is 9.375
I'll settle for a 9.4 as the final grade, not quite a 9.5 but close.
Nope, lets take it all the way down to a 9. Yikes.
Who knew math was such an imprecise science.
