3 X Loser Ebay / Paypal

So I sell a $50 item on ebay, get paid via paypal, and ship to the address on file.
All Good.
Last night, a case is opened against me on ebay, claiming non receipt. "Why did you ship to Delaware, I live in Seattle?
I screen copy order details (Delaware address) and Paypal Address of Record (Delaware) and send it in. Ebay quickly finds in my favor.
A short time after the ebay case is closed, the case is opened in Paypal, same issue, non receipt.
I recopy over all the information from ebay, and add on the tracking information right out of paypal.
A few hours later, paypal rules in my favor: I followed all the required actions.
20 minutes after that, Paypal Case opened, stating the account was hacked.
An hour later, case closed, paypal ruled in my favor.
What a hassle.
Thank goodness for screen copy, detailed records in paypal and ebay.
The found in the sellers favor 3 times in 12 hours. Is this a record?

This is becoming common unfortunately.
In fact, it is quite uncommon.
Do you really want to hear about all of the positive transactions that I have on ebay every week, week after week, year after year?
Errors...you don't count...the stuff you sell is too complicated to attract the wackos (other than the normal error collectors).
You are correct percentage wise, but the same thing happened to my wife on a non coin transaction. The person at PayPal told her that they were seeing more of this sort of thing.
Wondering why they would bother trying for a $50 coin after a supposed hacked account. Either very young or very stupid.

Kind of true. I am glad I do not sell gold bullion. I get calls asking if I have gold bullion and can tell by the call that I would be scammed if I dealt with them.
I have had a few fraud cases that Paypal has covered me on.
Most error collectors are kinda whacked, but honest in my experiences.
Another Point to remember is that most major error coins are unique and most have clear photography of such coins. Major error coins are a thin market and most everyone knows everyone. Hard to resell stolen merchandise with detailed photos of the coins. Most normal dealers will not pay up for such coins as well.
I do over 3000 transactions per year on eBay. Most of them are inexpensive coins and stamps (under $10). I have 2 or 3 problems per year, most of them minor.
@ErrorsOnCoins is correct, these things are not common. They happen, but quite rarely.
The same is true of delivery issues. I ship 3000+ packages around the globe, almost all uninsured. I lose...well, THEY lose a couple per year, usually overseas without tracking.
But no one, obviously, posts the problem free examples.

Oh, and for all the people who have been mad/worried/concerned/hysterical about eBay free returns, I've been running with 30 day free returns since late April. And, ironically, the 2 jewelry returns were the same sapphire necklace. Thank God that ugly thing is gone :

These are the cases where I don't even understand why cases get opened. PayPal and eBay both say DO NOT SHIP to any address other than verified. They can see what address is in their own systems. Why do they even need to bother you. Pretty simple. He shipped to this address because that was the address that is on file for this account. They didn't need to involve you at all.
