Treasure of Hue, 1885: The Spoils of War - imperial treasure was seized to settle the costs of the Tonkin military expedition. 14,630 kilos of silver and 1,335 kilos of gold were earmarked for the French Treasury. They were converted to gold 20-franc coins and silver pieces.

The Treasure of Slot Ter Hooge, 1724: A ship belonging to the Dutch East India Co. sank near Madeira. In 1974 Robert Stenuit retrieved the last chest. The sample displayed includes ingots and 'pieces of 8".
